NGPOD Shines at Medilink North West Awards
On the 1 March the NGPOD team attended the Medilink North West Awards 2017 at Old Trafford Cricket ground. The Medilink North West Healthcare Business Awards 2017 is the region’s biggest event for celebrating innovation, growth and commercial success of organisations operating in Healthcare Technology and Life Sciences. The audience was made up of leading figures in the North West and national medical devices industry as well as the shortlisted companies for 6 Awards.
A great achievement
NGPOD were shortlisted in the Partnership with the NHS Award after entering the competition with a submission for the work done with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and our national Advisory Board. In the spirit of the award we were very pleased to be able to take along two key clinicians from Lancashire Teaching Hospital to accompany us to the ceremony.
Although NGPOD did not win the award many people commented that it is a great achievement to be shortlisted prior to the commercial launch of a product as there is a lot of emphasis on the impact of a commercially available product within the category. While the team were disappointed not to bring the trophy home they are very proud that the way they have worked with clinicians has been recognised and are even more determined to ensure that when we launch the product that we enter the wards again and make sure NGPOD gets recognition in the future.
